Alex Starner is the Senior Technical Advisor at NIMS and oversees all aspects of product development and maintenance to ensure that products and services are of the highest quality and align with industry demand.
Alex began his manufacturing career with the Ward Machinery Company in Baltimore, where he earned his Journeyperson Machinist Certification. His manufacturing experience includes working as a Prototype Machinist, CNC Programmer, Tooling Designer, Machine Shop Foreman, and Quality Assurance Supervisor. Alex’s experience in Technical Education includes 8 years working for The Community College of Baltimore County as an adjunct instructor and 2 years as an Assistant Professor.
Since 2004 Alex has lived and worked in Tacoma Washington, gaining valuable experience manufacturing complex close-tolerance prototype and short run jobs for aerospace, nuclear energy, and defense industries before joining NIMS in April of 2020.
