Job Description: Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer: As a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in the Supply Chain Organization (SCO), you will join the team responsible for providing manufacturing support and guidance for Packaging and Electro-mechanical products. You are a Manufacturing expert with a proven track record of overcoming huge obstacles to successfully launch new products in Contract Manufacturer (CM) and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) environments. You are hands on and have extensive understanding of the tools, processes and techniques used to manufacture Electro-mechanical products. You are a valued partner to the product development team through your industry knowledge, experience identifying and qualifying advanced manufacturing techniques and your spot on Design for Excellence (DFX) feedback. Responsibilities: Develop Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/A) analysis, Design for Cost (DFC) analysis for sheet metal (soft tool), plastic injection molded, metal stamped (hard tool) and Electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, effectively communicating required design and material changes to contract manufacturers and engineering peers Determine and qualify contract manufacturers/vendors for precision sheet metal, high-volume metal stamping, plastic injection molding, tooling and level 3 electro-mechanical assemblies Provide comprehensive Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering support to global manufacturing partners during development and production builds Create work instructions and assembly guides as needed.Resolve manufacturing and field challenges by applying knowledge and skills, escalating design, manufacturing and product test issues to others within the organization when appropriate Identify, initiate and drive process improvements that reduce process cycle times and cost, while maintaining exceptional quality Utilize a Product Data Management (PDM) system, create and maintain Bills of Materials (BoM), Approved Vendor Lists (AVL) and Engineering Change Notifications/Orders (ECN/O) in support of products
