Job Description: BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993 BIR Training Center educates 2,000 students annually at its 3 Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Computerized Manufacturing Program Coordinator. The position is responsible for the areas of Programming, Faculty and Staff, Students, Facility, and Industry Affiliations. Duties per area of responsibilities include: Program Management 1. Standardize the current curriculum 2. Align the curriculum with industry certifications 3. Participate in new curricula and program development 4. Bring to the department the field’s innovations, online training, and best practices Faculty and Staff 1. Maintain the faculty skills list and identify deficiencies 2. Keep a pipeline of incoming faculty and participate in interviewing applicants 3. Serve as the faculty recourse 4. Observe instructors and evaluate classes 5. Get regular feedback on the class / curriculum / students/ progress. Coordinate with the Operations and assist them in creating class schedules 6. Periodically train BIR staff and faculty on CNC programs and the state of computerized manufacturing 7. Assist with content development for presentation materials and the web Students and Prospects 1. Participate in monitoring students' progress toward graduation and communicate to them about their academic performance 2. Advise students and prospects on issues related to the program, career path or field opportunities 3. Evaluate students' and prospects' previous educational and work experience 4. Teach career development class, and other technical classes, based on area of expertise 5. Proactively participate in open houses, outreach events, and marketing campaigns Facilities 1. Supervise the upkeep of the machines, tools, equipment on campuses & training shop 2. Be responsible for tools inventory, chips pick up, cutting tools/ machines’ parts ordering and similar in the training shop Industry Partnering 1. Solicit job openings from employers for BIR students and alumni 2. Organize on-campus job fairs 3. Seek partnerships with local and national production, software, and educational companies; 4. Create advisory board that provides input into the curricula, programming and students preparedness as well as creates awareness of the BIR brand; Working at BIR BIR provides challenging environment and opportunities for professional growth.
