Accreditation Renewed at Ohio County Area Technology Center in Hartford, KY

Keeping up with today’s industry skills standards, the Machine Tool Technology Program at the Ohio County Area Technology Center (ATC) in Hartford, Kentucky has renewed its NIMS Accreditation as of today, Thursday, April 19, 2012.  This is Ohio County ATC’s second time accomplishing NIMS-Accredited status since first receiving the title in October 2006.  NIMS applauds this program for demonstrating its ability to continue to meet our national industry standards in metalworking training.

On Friday, March 2, 2012, NIMS Evaluator and Team Leader Joe Waskevich (of JCIM, LLC in Louisville, KY) conducted a rigorous On-Site Evaluation at the tech center facility and was highly complimentary of the program.  His final evaluation report praised Instructor AV Conway’s ongoing commitment to recognizing the skills needs of local industry, while keeping his own skills up to date through summer in-service programs with MasterCAM and AutoCAD.  Joe also commended the continued emphasis placed on safety and the development of positive work habits, both of which were noted by local employers who were interviewed as part of the On-Site Evaluation.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this accreditation renewal, especially Machine Tool Technology Instructor AV Conway and Tech Center Principal Brad Sisk!  Special thanks to Joe Waskevich for conducting the on-site visit.
