Qualifications: Associates / Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent is preferred. 2+ years outside sales experience is required. SKILLS: Broad knowledge of Business to Business sales techniques are required. The ability to demonstrate experience with the Metalworking Product Area is essential. Applicable knowledge of the Metalworking Product Areas (Cutting Tools, Carbide, etc.) is required. Excellent communications skills are required. Basic computer literacy desired. REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver’s license is required. Position requires daily local travel within branch or market territory. Occasional overnight travel is also required.
Job Description: ELIGIBLE FOR METALWORKING HIRING BONUS Sells, under general supervision, MSC products with a focus on metalworking supplies/tools, services, and value adds by visiting and interacting with established and prospective customers to ensure the achievement of individual and corporate sales and profit goals. Total Account Portfolio should have a minimum of 75% of the assigned customers coming from the Metalworking Core End Market and defined as metalworking accounts. Sales to these customers should be made up of both metalworking and MRO product sales. Ability to leverage MSC’s Value Basket Offering to Customer base to include Competitive Advantage Program (CAP), Customer Managed Inventory (CMI), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) other newly introduced inventory solutions and web based solutions. Ensures growth of sales identifies and develops under close guidance new prospects and grows business to contribute to the achievement of corporate sales goals. Maintains relationships with key metalworking vendors to support growth of their account portfolio. Manages to ensure excellent customer relations. Responds to customer needs, consistent with MSC’s standards, culture, and business practices. Consults with manager to identify and implement solutions to problems. Demonstrates teamwork to ensure achievement of team and corporate sales goals. Maintains sales records and generates relevant market/sales reports for MSC. Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgetary constraints. Takes corrective action as needed. Develops a personal business plan under general management supervision to establish personal annual goals. Fosters the MSC Culture in the branch and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s Mission. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. EOE
