We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Set Up Technician to work in our fast-paced metal fabrication plant. Set Up Technician This position performs a wide variety of punch press and machining set up operations such as Punch Press, Turret Press and Press Brakes. Responsible for selection of dies. Selects dies. Sets dies and stops, and adjusts ram for varying plate thicknesses. Improvises, builds or recommends special purpose tooling to meet requirements and lay out location of holes, cutouts and bends, making allowances for welding and convenience in assembly if required. Plans sequence of multiple pass operations for series of bends and other fabricating operations on complicated sections. Ensures jobs are running correctly, inspecting and periodically testing throughout the job run. Works with operator assigned to run the job or machine and ensures operator is trained and able to perform the job. Also responsible to maintain the set ups, replace dull tools, change and adjust as required. May also operate machines as needed for complicated jobs or to meet production demands. This candidate must have a strong attention to detail. Must be able to troubleshoot and read blue prints to handle precision measuring tools. Ability to operate forklift to move material and finished goods from the machine area as required. Must possess excellent communications skills with ability to train and work effectively with other operators. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for full time.
