Experience in the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Demonstrated experience in project management with advanced manufacturing projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to lead diverse teams from various areas of the company Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook Working knowledge of Quality Problem Solving Tools (PFMEA, 8D, Pareto and Fishbone diagrams) Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project planning software Desired Qualifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified Experience with Solid Works Experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
Job Description: The Manufacturing/Process Engineer 1 position provides engineering, technical and metal forming expertise and knowledge in order to plan, organize, and lead efforts of Manufacturing Engineering programs and projects. These include the establishment of manufacturing processes and related equipment, the development of machinery and associated tools and conducting special studies for process or product improvement. Provide project management support, coordination and scheduling from concept to production and beyond, including first production pilot runs. Provide engineering, technical and metal forming expertise and knowledge in order to plan, organize, and lead efforts of Manufacturing Engineering programs and projects. These include the establishment of manufacturing processes and related equipment, the development of machinery and associated tools and conducting special studies for process or product improvement. Act as the liaison between Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, Production Control, Marketing and Manufacturing on all assigned projects. Improve quality by improving manufacturing systems and processes, coordinating the trial and implementation of new manufacturing technology. Analyze, develop and implement continuous improvement program projects and suggestions. Develop improved tooling systems to include: manufacturing tools, maintenance, use and storage. Work with the effected departments to document agreed upon standards and systems. Improve processes, equipment and methods to manufacture new/existing products through the use of automation, sensors, planned maintenance, TPM principles, standard practices, six sigma techniques, etc. Develop and troubleshoot manufacturing processes and products on various presses, secondary machinery and toolroom equipment. Support the continuous improvement efforts by assisting employees in the evaluation and implementation of improvement requests. Perform analysis of these projects, determine implementation costs and potential savings. Drive and support Lean Manufacturing principles. Provide training, as required, to those associated with the operation, development and troubleshooting of our manufacturing processes and our products. Assist in activities relative to the changing of the physical facility or the rearrangement/addition of equipment and systems. Interface with all levels of the organization to provide technical consultation and manufacturing process expertise for both new and existing products. Coach, mentor and counsel other department staff and project personnel as assigned.
