Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: • Two year technical degree in mechanical drafting or CAD drafting • Experience with CAD/CAM systems utilizing solid modeling • Proficient PC Skills in a Windows environment • Ability to travel, including air, occasionally overnight The most qualified candidate will also possess the following: • Experience developing CNC programs • Experience with special processes, i.e., plating, welding, heat treat, etc. • Knowledge and/or experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts • Previous experience in the machining industry, job shop machining preferred • Experience with ISO quality systems and World Class Manufacturing principles • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills • Experience with ERP systems
Job Description: Primary Objective: Support staff for all efforts of the engineering department. Major Areas of Accountability: 1. CAD – modeling and detailing • Create models as required based on project requirements. May include components, fixtures, assemblies. • Create detailed drawings for manufactured components, fixtures, assemblies. • Follow and use company templates for detailing. • Use industry standards where applicable. • May be responsible for creating sales oriented presentations using CAD system to support project management and sales team. 2. Manufacturing Engineering Support • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, setup sheets, inspection sheets and other supporting documents. • Assist with part number entry, bill of material entry, maintenance of routers using Global Shop (ERP). • Offer input to engineering discussions and decisions to ensure that engineering is complete before manufacturing begins. 3. Project Documentation • Prepares appropriate, detailed documentation related to the project. • Documents and implements engineering changes initiated by the customer or internally. • May develop tooling design and redesign with supervisors to reduce manufacturing costs and/or improve quality. • Develops and maintains a rapport with customers and employees to ensure that projects are completed smoothly and effectively. 4. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
