Job Description
Arthrex Manufacturing is actively seeking a Trainer for the Manufacturing department. The successful candidate will design, deliver and evaluate learning and development programs and services. This position will support all of Arthrex’s Manufacturing training needs. Experience in CNC machining, experience in training or leadership in manufacturing along with strong presentation and computer skills will be essential for this position. The position will be located at our manufacturing site in Ave Maria, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzes needs, establishes learning objectives, designs, develops, markets and delivers training programs and other learning and development services, specialized workshops, including technical math courses for manufacturing personnel.

• Works with manufacturing and partnering school regarding learning and development needs for manufacturing and Arthrex Apprenticeship Program.

• Supports QMS Training Initiatives and use of the Success Factors LMS for training and assessment content delivery.

• Maintain Training Competency Matrices, Training Role Matrices, and Competency Training materials.

• Researches alternative learning delivery methods such as computer-based and satellite training programs. Helps implement programs which will meet Arthrex Manufacturing’s learning and development needs.

• Markets programs and reviews utilization records and participant evaluations.

• Supports Arthrex learning initiatives with local educational institutions including FGCU, iTech, and Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology.

• Supports train-the-trainer programs for division, department and job-specific trainers as identified throughout the organization.

• Identifies and implements competency models and recommends and delivers integrated learning and development tools and programs.

• Assist in reviewing vendor training programs and materials; makes recommendations for purchasing new programs and conducts these programs upon request.

• Participates in other strategic initiatives and assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

• Oversees the production of course materials.

• Responsible for development of class curriculums and schedules.

• Create a database and reports to track class attendance and program certification.

• Evaluate current training programs for web-based training potential. Work with the creator of the program to map out migration or development path.
Required Experience

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum seven years CNC machining experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Trainer, Lead or Learning & Development Specialist in a manufacturing environment or related training or teaching/instruction experience

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to teach/instruct a multitude of technical classes.  When instructing/teaching must have the ability to engage the participants and maintain an appropriate professional learning environment.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • Expertise in Swiss Turn, milling, and conventional lathes and mills required.
  • Metrology experience a plus.
