How do I log into the NIMS website?

To log in, visit the NIMS website home page and check the top right hand corner of your screen for a link that says "Log in/Register". To see the process firsthand, click this FAQ to watch a video tutorial.

How do I register as an evaluator?

Click the Login/Register button in the top right hand corner of your screen. After following several prompts, your Evaluator account will be submitted to NIMS for approval. Click on this FAQ to watch a video tutorial that has step by step instructions for registration.

How do I search for specific resource material on the NIMS website?

Click Resources in the menu at the top of the page, and then choose a resource category. Once on the page, you can select various check boxes to narrow down the search and find the exact material needed. How do I send a performance affidavit to NIMS?

As of July 1, 2019, NIMS no longer accepts paper affidavits. Evaluators submit them online themselves, after being assigned by an account administrator.

The affidavit documents a candidate’s successful completion of a performance assessment.

What is the Inspector credential?

The Inspector credential validates knowledge of GDT and general measurement & inspection. Individuals who earn this credential will be able to inspect their students’ parts for performance validation in earning NIMS credentials. Who is an evaluator?

An evaluator is the individual qualified to assess the performance of a candidate. Anyone who used to sign off on paper affidavits should now have an evaluator account with NIMS.

The sponsor is an old term for a role at NIMS that encompassed the responsibilities of Account Administrators and Evaluators.
